Purpose & objective

Participants will be involved in a digital trip through mexican magic towns in which they will approach to symbolic history, legends and places through stories, pictures and videos.

Students will demonstrate how to use web applications to elaborate in a creative and easy way a digital trip developing different types of writing.

In Reading and Writing class, students create narrative, persuasive and expository texts in short stories, papers and videos including themes such as grammar, legends, biographies about “Mexican Magic Towns”.

Students transport themselves to Mexican magical towns through their stories and legends made with storybird and animoto videos.

Besides, they create a map using google, locating all magic towns, as well including a brief description and a link to their blog with pictures, animoto videos, papers, stories and legends.

We invite you to connect and expand our project with your students creating a map to share your country’s most emblematic places.

 

Outline

We will demonstrate how to integrate animoto videos, blogs, storybird and google maps in an interesting way to strengthen culture and traditions.
You will be able to download the project’s files description methodology as well as the rubrics, quickguide of web applications and all our links from the students’ project.

Standards addressed

Students will be able to develop their reading and writing skills through this project using different types of text, research information to create a persuasive text and narrative text focus to elementary students.
